The Kansas City Power and Light Company has filed a request with the Missouri Public Service Commission to adjust the fuel and purchased power adjustment charge or FAC on the bills of its electric customers.
The first of KCP&L's two filings proposes to adjust the FAC to reflect fuel and purchased power costs for the six month period of January through June. The second case is KCP&L's true-up filing. Under the filings by KCP&L, for a residential customer using 1000 Kilowatts per hour of electricity a month, the FAC will drop from approximately 4 dollars and 9 cents a month to approximately 73 cents a month.
The proposed change would take effect on October first. The change will affect electric customers in Livingston and Platte Counties.
